All you need is:

- An egg carton, or molded fruit packaging, or anything like it
- scissors - crafting scissors are more fun!
- optional: leaves, sticks, or grass
How to Make Your Nest:
1. Cut the cartons into separate parts. You can cut one or leave a few together to make your nest bigger.
3. Glue your strips and optional items to the top and bottom of the cut carton pieces
4. Now, put your owls into their new home!

- Most owls hunt insects, small mammals and other birds.
- Some owl species hunt fish.
- Owls have powerful talons (claws) which help them catch and kill prey.
- Owls have large eyes and a flat face.
- Owls can turn their heads as much as 270 degrees.
- Owls are farsighted, meaning they can’t see things close to their eyes clearly.
- Owls are very quiet in flight compared to other birds of prey.
- The color of owl’s feathers helps them blend into their environment (camouflage).
- Barn owls can be recognized by their heart shaped face.
Use string, or yarn to wrap around the paper roll. Or use decorative paper.
You can cut the paper into fringe, or just draw with a pen, or marker. Use paint, feathers, googly eyes, felt, buttons, or anything else you can think of!
