TOOTHPASTE ART
Have some messy, gooey fun with toothpaste art creations. This craft encourages sensory exploration and creative play for younger kids…just remember to save some toothpaste for brushing!
What You Need:
What You Do:
What You Need:
- 1 tsp liquid glue
- 2 TBS cornstarch
- ½ TBS toothpaste
- Food coloring
- Paper bowl
- Plastic spoon
- Cookie cutters, play dough molds
- Paper plate or finger paint paper
What You Do:
- Measure the glue, cornstarch and toothpaste into the paper bowl.
- Stir the ingredients together with a plastic spoon. For a thicker texture-like clay, you can leave it out overnight to set.
- Pick out a color of food coloring and add one drop to the mixture.
- Stir the color so it mixes in completely
- You can make shapes with your hands. You can use cookie cutters, or play dough molds, to help create a well-defined shape. Roll the mixture into balls to create beads or marbles
- Place your shapes onto a paper plate to dry
- If the mixture has a more finger paint-like consistency, you can transfer it to a paper plate or piece of finger paint paper and play away! Play dough molds and cookie cutter shapes can also work for this consistency to make stamps. Or you can just use your fingers to draw freehand letters and shapes.
